We make supported living feel familiar
Mediline is a supported living provider focused on creating stability, trust and familiarity in everyday care. We work closely with families, professionals and commissioners to deliver support that feels person-centred.
90% of our families report feeling reassured and heard after transitioning to Mediline. When families trust the people around their loved one, everyone settles.
Our focus on local recruitment and retention means familiar faces – not a rotating door. 100% of our support is delivered by our own permanent staff.
Local recruitment means familiar faces and lasting relationships with families, commissioners and the people we support. We’ve been here since 1986.
The Mediline story
Mediline was founded on a simple belief: that people with learning disabilities and complex needs deserve to live ordinary lives, in real homes, with the right people around them.
Too often in this sector, people experience unnecessary disruption – unfamiliar faces, unpredictable routines and services designed around systems rather than lives. Families arrive overwhelmed. The people being supported feel unsettled.
We do things differently. Consistent teams. Stable homes. Honest communication. And a genuine commitment to the people we work with and everyone around them.
Nearly four decades on, that belief has not changed. Today we support over 400 people across Lancashire, Manchester and Merseyside, with a team of 500 who share our values and our commitment to doing this work well.

Our Mediline DIRECT Values
Our values are not aspirational statements pinned to a wall. They describe how Mediline already works and what the people we support, their families and our teams experience every day.
Dignity
We promote that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Inclusive
We recognise and value differences within our society and ensure everyone can make a positive contribution.
Responsive
We are flexible and responsive to the needs of the people we support.
Empowering
We empower people to make choices and decisions that will help to shape their future.
Caring
We ensure our staff are trained with the skills and values to provide caring and compassionate support.
Transparent
We promote a culture of openness, trust and honesty, we do what is right and accept accountability when things go wrong.
Where People Come First
Our purpose, mission and vision are not aspirational statements. They reflect how Mediline already works and what the people we support, their families and our teams experience every day.
Our Mission
Helping people shape their future through personalised support
Through consistent teams, thoughtful planning and honest partnerships, we remove unnecessary disruption and create support that feels joined up and predictable. Clear communication sits at the heart of everything we do.
Our Vision
Support is shaped around real lives and real needs.
Where continuity is the norm. Where every person is helped to live with dignity, confidence and a genuine sense of belonging – surrounded by familiar faces and steady routines that help them grow.
Our Purpose
Mediline exists to ensure people we support can live with dignity, confidence and a deep sense of belonging.
In real homes, supported by teams who know them well, communicate clearly and create safe, familiar environments where people can grow in independence.
Good people make good support possible.
Experienced, values-led and genuinely committed – from frontline support workers to clinical and operational specialists, our teams are the reason families trust us and the reason the people we support feel settled and at home.

"Mediline invests in its staff properly. The training and the culture they've built means you feel equipped and supported. Knowing you're part of a team that makes a real difference to people's wellbeing is something not many jobs can offer."

Supporting People and Diverse Communities & LGBTQ+
At Mediline, we recognise and respect the uniqueness of every individual. We actively support people to express their cultural, religious, and personal identities, including those within the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring everyone feels safe, respected, and able to live the life they choose.
We understand that identity, culture, and lived experience shape how people want to be supported. That’s why we take the time to listen, understand, and adapt our support to reflect each person’s preferences, relationships, and way of life.
This commitment is reflected in how we develop our workforce. We have invested significantly in education and training to ensure our teams understand the importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice, not just in policy.
Celebrating Identity and Culture
At Mediline, we believe that truly person-centred support means understanding what matters most to each individual and sometimes, it’s the small, thoughtful actions that make the biggest difference.
Two of the people we support wanted to reconnect with their Nigerian heritage, particularly through traditional clothing. Our staff took the time to listen, research, and explore options that reflected their culture and style.
They worked closely with each individual to understand their preferences, ensuring the clothing felt right. From sourcing the attire to supporting them to wear it with pride, the impact was immediate. Both individuals experienced a renewed sense of identity, confidence, and connection to their roots.
Digital Innovation
We use digital innovation to enhance the quality, safety and responsiveness of our services.
Our care and workforce systems enable real-time recording, improved communication, and greater accountability across our teams. This allows us to monitor support as it happens, respond quickly to changes in need, and maintain accurate, transparent records.
By embracing technology, we strengthen oversight, support our staff to work more efficiently, and ultimately deliver more consistent, person-centred care to the people we support.
